It was with pride that last Friday, Frincor was present at the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the new slaughterhouse on the island of São Jorge, a project in which it will participate by carrying out the part relating to isothermal insulation and refrigeration installation.

This is an absolutely critical infrastructure for the region's economy. With rigorous technical planning, it was designed in detail to be reliable and robust, with a major emphasis on optimizing energy consumption. The recommended technical solution uses “green” fluids – NH3, ammonia, has a Global Warming Potential of Zero (GWP=0) and CO2, carbon dioxide, has a GWP=1 – and incorporates a set of technologies that allow significant reductions in energy consumption. This will be a modern, completely “Green and Clean” infrastructure, prepared for several decades of operation. The deadline for the work is 18 months and, with this new achievement, Frincor reinforces its position as a reference for industrial refrigeration in the Azores, with a presence on 6 islands of the archipelago and in the meat, milk, fish, canned goods and logistics sectors.
